so I spent about 45 min in the WS today trying to square up the miter fence of my MS. Now it is a Ryobi and don’t tell me throw it out the window… I don’t have any windows in the shop. I tilted the fence one way, off by 1/16th of an inch over 5 1/2″, eventually I tilt the fence the other way, and it is off ny the same amount THE SAME DIRECTION!! is it something about the saw itself that will never be square? HELP!?!?!?
yep I change my oil every 3000
miles or when I get bored…
which ever comes first

I'll get that soon, I thought people could make a generalization

You're probably experiencing blade wobble. It happens when you own low end mitersaws that were designed for construction and not fine woodworking. Not sure how you can fix blade wobble. Maybe you should go buy a nice miter box and saw at your local flea market and build some muscle.

i was thinking it might be that

I had a Ryobi 3000? Forgets the exact number.. Made a house WITH THAT so called junk saw! The one with the so called crap silider!
OK so half through the projrct I had to get a new blade.. I ran a 10 penny nail with the stick!
You know Will, I built a house with a Ryobi BT3000 also! I still have the saw, it's certainly more portable than the Unisaw that I have in the shop.
Thanks for the reply! I am NOT the only 'nut' that loved that table saw!It was a work horse but never tried to cut three inch thick maple with it...IT was a wonderful saw..

Yea! Keep Defending my saw! I had no idea it is a piece of crap. I have it dialed in, and square. I suppose I had better quit using it to fix my old house and just build a new one!Cheers
>portable UnisawJust need more muscle.
I don't think I want to meet the dude that can pickup and move a 'portable' Unisaw :-)
My friend Ken had four hundred pounds of my five hundred pound lathe when we moved it brand new out of his Volkswagen van after bring it from Denver to my basement shop. I was on the other end and it wasn't heavy !Yah come to think of it he tends to the anti social side of life. I was in his welding shop one day and there were these little bitty model car looking exhaust pipe looking things laying on the tig welding table. I said what are these? He said "cyanide gas manifolds. If I don't make 'em right people die". He is a strange one. Strong like bull though.
As long as you're writing down Make and Model, let us know what blade you're using too. It's conceivable that the blade is at least exacerbating the problem, if not causing it.
