I see that two shows are coming up, one is Oct 30-Nov 1 and the other is Nov 15-17. Is one better than the other? I believe the latter is under the auspices of “The Woodworking Shows” if that means anything. Is it worth my while to wait until the show to buy tools? I’m currently budgetting about $3K for new stuff, though about half of that will go to a local dealer for a tablesaw. Would I expect to see 10% or better discounts at the shows?
TIA
Bob

Where are you seeing info about the Oct 30th show? It's not on the radar for my dependable search engine. I am seeing a Northwest Wood Arts Show & Exhibition Nov. 1-3, but nothing else is popping up.
forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Now that I see that those dates are mid-week, I'm wondering if maybe it wasn't something from years past. A quick search showed that I had pulled up a oregon woodworkers guild web page where they were talking about staffing a table at the upcoming show, but no year was given. It did seem odd that they would have two shows so close together, but they actually did that last year with two separate home and garden shows just weeks apart.
So I guess I'll go to the one on the 15th.
