Gentlemen,
I’m finally upgrading shops into 2 bays of of 3 car garage with a separate finishing room (can’t wait!) and have room for my next major tool purchase. I want to be able to try some resawing and need to be able to cut out bowl blanks from chunks of logs, so definitely resaw capacity is high on my list of features to look for in a new BS, as is ease of adjustment and overall ease of use. I’m so far considering the Grizzly 457 and the Rikon 10-325, but am strongly considering splurging on an 18″ saw to hopefully never want/need to upgrade. Recommendations and opinions please?

Not being a gentleman, I don't know if I'm permitted a response, but perchance did you notice Grizzly's 19" saws are "free shipping" right now?
Considering the type of sawing you want to do, seems a wise thing to go for a heavier-duty saw with more capacity, as you say -- "never want/need to upgrade."
My apologies, forestgirl! To be sure, any lady into woodworking quickly gets my attention and respect!
I was not aware of the free shipping offer until you pointed it out for me... definitely looks like a good deal. The Griz 457 14" saw also has free shipping so the remaining question is whether to spend an extra $350 for the 19" saw. Anyone have experience with either machine?

I have the Grizzly 17" and have been well pleased. There were a number of recent posts regarding this saw (G0513x2) that you could pull up with the search function.

Thanks for the tip- I had not tried the search function and was able to find plenty of other discussions on the issue!
Yep. I think that we were beginning to start some kind of G0513 fan club! This was my first major Grizzly purchase, and I can not believe how much bang I got for the buck. I have done some minor tweaking and the saw does just what I want. Ask me if I'm happy....

Another big fan of the Griz 17" can't beat it and the price is right as Bob use to say. I was married by a judge - I should have asked for a jury.George Burns
All owners of 85 lb. lapdogs should have Grizzly 17" bandsaws....
Anyone have experience with either machine?
I do with the 18 inch Ricon. Best $900 I ever spent! OK, plus shipping...

I bought a Grizzly 21" band saw and was blown away by the machine.
Buy a Grizzly over 18" and you will be impressed beyond your expectations! Way beyond!

I would buy Grizzly.
I own a 21" band saw, large lathe, belt sander, 2 hp dust collector and a bunch of other stuff: You can't go wrong with these machines. They will have more options than you can imagine when you get the machine.

Thanks for all the responses. I've decided on the 513X2. It's more machine than I currently have a need for, but for only a couple hundred $ more, it seems like a no-brainer. Thanks again for the opinions!

Don't know if you have made your choice yet. I didn't go bigger, rather opted to put the riser on my 14" for now. I can live with it for now.
The great thing about most saws larger than 14" is the extra mass in the wheels and blade AND the table is much lower.
As far as going larger than 17 or 18" it would depend on purpose. Most saws over 16" give a 12" resaw capacity. Beyond that, I have trouble understanding the variety of throat depths available. A usable 24" throat depth would permit ripping sheet goods in half, but the advantage of 19" over 17" or 18" has me. Again, if you intend on doing a lot of 8"+ resawing, then bigger should be better over the long run.
