Where to buy 13″ rigid planer blades”
My local home depot stopped selling them. Does anybody know where else to get them. Thanks in advance.

That would be great thanks.
Best of luck to you in getting the knives. Back when I still shopped at HD, I would buy them when they had them on the hook because I didn't know when I'd be able to get another set. I sold the planer last month with three sets in the package. Had I known...
Home Depot can special order them for you, or you can order them directly from Ridgid, there's a contact number in the manual, but there is probably a shipping charge.

If I recall, I went to the Ridgid part site and was told that they could be purchased at the local HD. Went to the HD and they quit stocking them awhile back. As a matter of fact they had some last year and weren't selling, so they put them on the sale table for $.99. Checked several other HDs in Austin and none of them have them. This will prevent me from buying a Ridgid. Parts that you use all the time should not be that hard to buy. Good luck in finding them.
same thing here in the suburbs of Atlanta. i agree i will never buy Rigid/Ryobi EVER again. It's a shame because it's a good planer. I seen a tool test a few years ago in another wood working magazine when the it was just coming out and the rigid took 1st in performance.
I would measure them as Mike suggested, as I suspect they are the standard 1/8" x 5/8" x 13. If so.. Grizzly.. Sunhill Machinery.. etc. have them cheaper. I wouldn't pay that price unless just absolutely necessary and I doubt that is the case.
BTW... I may go in the HD store in Snellville today. If they were to have any, I'll post or PM you.
Sarge..
They're not. The overall dimensions are about 13-9/16 L x 3/4 W x 5/64 T. The ends are notched--the notches are what register the blades in position in the cutterhead. The length of the cutting portion of the blades is about 13-5/32.

Thanks Steve.. I forgot that the Rigid has the 13 1/2 width as I shopped one long ago before getting a Delta 2 speed. All I have to worry about these days are the 20" blades.
It's a nice planer and a shame that HD is headed the route they're headed it appears from seeing their tool section these days. But.. I suppose I have other priorities and will leave Home Depot's business to Home Depot and tend to mine. ha.. ha... ha..ha..ha..

I imagine your blades are 1/8"x5/8"x13". Freud, Grizzly etc sell planer blades. Measure one ,they probably are the above dimensions,so they are stock blades.
You can do a web search for planer blades and you will find many sources.

Thanks for all your input guys. Someone has offer me a couple of sets that they have.
Steve is right. They have slots in then which register the blades. And notches at the ends.
This ties into the thread "What's wrong with these manufacturers.
It makes me want to rush right out to Home Desperate and lay down some bucks for their Rigid line. Yeah, right!!!
Another example of today's corporate mindset (both retailer and manufacturer) and lack of customer consideration.

They are $12 a set more than HD used to sell them for. I would look up the old HD part number and see if you can't order them through customer service.

I ordered a set just now from the $36 source since a blade never nicks at a good time, and I need a backup set. About $9.00 more for shipping and insurance.
I was in Lowes the other day and was looking at the delta and dewalt planer blades.
Dewalt planer blades were $54 freekin dollars for a set. Now i'm not sure if they were 2 or 3 in a pack but still $54 freakin dollars???
The big boxes are not always cheapest either. They have loss leaders like drywall to get you in. Then you need other things and the convience factor kicks in. Especially in the tool department. Unless something was on clearance I rarely see something that is truely a good deal. I have been weening myself away from them. My last house they were basically my only choice unless I wanted to sit in traffic for hours on end trying to get to a decent yard.
And although the yards around me now don't have that homey feel to them. They are at least a little better than the Boxes. The biggest plus is more selection in just about everything materials wise. I noticed the Orange box near me has reduced their hardwoods area by almost half. Seems their hardwood doesn't sell that well, wonder why?? ;-)
Golly, that's more than I paid for 16" knives direct from Hammer.
Yep! Wish I'd picked up a couple of sets when HD actually carried the things.
Look in your owners manual or go on line. You should find a tollfree phone number. A phone call and 3 to 5 days should have your parts delivered to your address. I haven't ordered from Ridgid yet but have ordered from many other companies using these sources and have recieved good and prompt service. Example, I bought a nice looking Ryobi drill driver at a garage sale a while back. It worked fine but would lose charge over night. I went to HD and they said that they didn't carry 9.6 V batteries anymore. I found an 800 number in the owners manual, called in an order and had my new battery in 3 days.
I would ask for the store manager.. CHEW on his ear a bit but NOT enough so he/she cannot hear.. Tell them you will be back tomorrow and very day after until I see the blades on the counter.......... FOR A FAIR PRICE.. IT IS THEIR TOOLS and YOU sold it to me!
EDIT: I HOPE you live close to them.. May take along time!
