Is there a website whose theme is making stuff of wood for young children, from toddlers to say 10 years old?
Are there books out there with this theme?
Thanks for any leads.

I've seen lot's at barnes and noble.
New Yankee workshop has a book with projects just for kids, there's also a book from reader's digest with plans for kids. I actually used the plans for a cradle from the readers digest book. I built it for my first son, who slept in it for the first 5 months of his life. (he's now a year old) But i have to warn you, the plan for the cradle had a major error on the cutting diagram, the head and foot of the cradle should have the sides cut at the same angle, and they are not, luckily i caught it in time, and after about 2 hours, and three cups of coffee later, i figure out that it wasn't my mistake!
There are a few other books i've seen of old time wooden toys you can build, you shouldn't have any problem finding them at your local Border's, Barnes and Noble, or tattered cover.
The woodworking section at Barnes and Noble in our area nearly always has 2 or 3 books on making toys and such.
forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)

If you're looking for ideas, my wife and her friends, anything that even looks like Pottery Barn Kids - its theirs. Hey, catalogs are even free.

I have a book with over 30 woodworking projects for children, it's called The Family Handyman Toys, Games, and Fruniture from Reader's Digest. It was given to me by my parents for christmas one year. I have only built the rocking horse below, (I am now building my 13th rocking horse) that is why I have not build anything else from the book.
Give it a read.
Thanks Jeff, RW and Harry.

I make something, sometimes twice, each year.
