What to do, woodworking style, in Miami?
Hello!
I am coming over to Miami in the first two weeks of December. Is there anything that I can go to that is related to woodworking?
I hope that you have some good ideas.
Regards,
Jasper

Next time I'm down that way I plan on visiting Constantines in Fort Lauderdale.
They are nice folks and an excellent source for veneer (among other things.)

Frank, thank you for your tip of what to do in Miami. I hope I will have the time during the day to visit the shop.Stoekadoe
The South Florida Woodworking Guild meets at 7:00PM on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the Woodcraft store in Ft. Lauderdale. I am sure that they would welcome you as a visitor and can provide suggested activities in the area.
Don, thank you for that tip on what to do in Miami. I will hopefully have the time to visit the meeting. Regards,Stoekadoe
In my note, I intended to include the website address for the South Florida Woodworking Guild so you could learn something about the club if you wish. Here it is: http://www.sfwg.org/ . I'll be interested to get your comments if you should go to one of their meetings.
Jasper,
That place you mention is foreign to me (being a Brit) but I believe it is a concentration of Art Deco. Perhaps one might gawp for buildings in that style and then investigate their innards for furniture-fantastique in the complementary style?
Take a camera in there and post pics. Few folk seem to make that stuff today, perhaps because it's not easy to do so well.
