HI All
I am about to buy a new table saw , it has come down to either the Delta Uni-saw(I am most familer withthe Delta) the General International(I have heard alot of mixed reports onthis saw) and the General 350 (the most $$) I would like to go with the Delta but I’ve been told that they have gone down hill the last year or so because the inners are now made in Asia. Any info would be very helpfull Thanks Happy Holidays D.P.

If I could do it all over again I'd buy the General (Canadian) 650, a few more bucks but probably the best cabinet saw on the market today. I run the General Int. contractor - great saw - love it to death but wished I'd gone the extra mile and got the 650. If I had I wouldn't ever need to upgrade.

I got a Unisaw a couple months ago, and didn't experience the problems some have reported. For example, in the Amazon reviews for my model (the 5 hp Biesmeyer), several reviewers say it's impossible to assemble from the directions, that the machining is incorrect (missing holes), etc. I will admit it took some time and concentration to do it right, but I didn't think it excessively difficult. My saw table is quite flat, the fence is rock-solid, and I feel like I have a tool I'll be using for decades.
I have nothing negative to say about the General saws, but the reports that Delta has declined past utility are incorrect.
I'd grab the General in a heart beat. The Uni is a good saw, but it is going through a transition in ownership/CS/and parts sourcing...the motor now comes from Brazil and the cast iron from Asia. The GI appears to be a good value in an Asian made cabinet saw, but I doubt that one will hang with the General in a production environment either, but should be great for a home shop or minor commercial use. I haven't read many (if any) negatives about the GI 50-250 or 260 ...what did you read and where?

I purchased a Uni in May of this year with the Bies fence from Amazon. Zero problems with the saw or the delivery process. It's most likely over kill for a hobbyist, however dust control was a concern.
