Virtually all woods are in trouble..
the reason is 2 fold
first, the diversity of a natural forest which seperates species of trees and provides sufficent diversity of natural defences and a limitation of expsosure is no longer present.. less than 2% of the old growth forests still remain..
Second with modern transportation systems threats can cross oceans and reach areas that have no built in defence against them..
Selective harvesting and then plantation growing has resulted in the currant vulnerability..
