I just had a chance to buy a 1950’s Shopsmith ER10. Unfortunately, I already have two of these babies and couldn’t justify a third. This machine is solid as a rock. It works as an awesome horizontal boring machine, a super drill press and a great lathe. They can be found sitting around in garages everywhere and can usually be purchased for under $500, sometimes under $300. No shop should be without one of these! Don’t expect it to be a decent tablesaw, but we all have one of those anyway.

Man, you are really high on these machines! Two posts about the same thing.
Remember to breathe! Euphoria is dangerous around power equipment!
Next thing you'll be telling us, Shopsmiths are better than sex!

Sorry, I didn't think the first one showed up, I guess it was hiding behind the newest five <"))))><
I got the ER10 from my FIL some years back. I've moved it across country a few times, which is a ******, but it is my drill press, horizontal borer, disk sander, drum sander, and grinder. It will always have a spot in my shop
