Most of the commercial ones are expensive. I’ve got a lengthy veneer job coming up and am wondering if anyone has a homemade version or some type of plans to make one? Thanks

I haven't tried to make one, but have tried a few alternatives with mixed results. I bought dispenser designed for wetting/dispensing brown paper package tape...worked just ok. The wetting mechanism and the blade are perfect, but the roll of veneer tape did not have the proper tension on it...I have thought about a mod for this...sort of a thin strip of wood as "keeper -spring." The other method, more tedious but better than just a bit of sponge in a cup on the bench, is a old fishing stamp moistening roller. Basically a ceremic roller with short axles that sits in a little ceramic box. Personally, Ive promised myself that before the next veneer project I'm buying the unit sold by Vaccupress.com
