Hi,
I’m trying to get someone to sell me a 4″ Delta jointer. An older style Made in USA. I’ve only seen pictures so far but they say it’s in tip top shape. Extra knives and Magna Set included. Old red and black Delta logo with red knobs. On stand with retractable wheels. It’d be a good fit in my small shop
They have it packaged with another item I don’t need and I’m wondering what a fair offer would be for the jointer alone.
Thanks,
Notrix

I'm not sure if anyone makes a 4" jointer anymore except for some bench top models. I used to have the Delta combination 4" jointer and 9" saw years ago. You can buy a new 6" import like a Sunhill, Yorkcraft or a Delta Shopmaster for around $350. Bench tops are under $200 but they wouldn't compare to the old Delta. I'm guessing the jointer would be worth $150 - $175. This would have been a princely sum a few years ago but finding an inexpensive jointer isn't easy.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
Thanks!Yea it looks like a nice machione. I'm hurtin' for space so I can't even shoe horn ina 6" so it's gonna have to be a small one.N

I saw an old Delta 4 " jointer in add in Knots classified. 3/30/05 asking $150.00 including metal stand on rollers. I think it was a 1946 model . It looks just like the one I have only older. I hope this one is still available. However if I see a tool that I really like I purchase it right then. My experience has proved that if I wait and think about it and call back the tool has been sold. Then I am upset with myself for not buying it in the first place. Good luck to you in your search.

I don't know where you are but I have a small Craftsman 4" benchtop jointer.
It's probably 15 years old, hardly used. A little rust to clean up.
Your welcome to it free if you pick it up, I don't want to box and ship it.
I'm in Southern Vermont.

Thanks Jeff!I couldn't be farther away in the US...SoCal! I'm sure you can find some takers closer.N
I sold a 6" bench top for 50 bucks to a freind with new blades..I should have asked for a little more. id say 75 bucks is about right (if your talking benchtop)

I would think a jointer that small isn't good for anything except edge jointing - and that can be done on a router table. I can't see this being worth more than $100.
taking a chance
Hi Jeff,
I realize the post is old. Do you still have the jointer and do you still want to get rid of it?
I live in southern NH and will take a ride.
Thanks,

4" Delta jointer
I have recently retired and closed my cabinet shop after 40 years. I have and old Delta 4" jointer in excellent shape. It is mounted on an original Delta stand. I also have a 24" Delta scroll saw and a Delta 4' lathe. Didn't know if you found something but since I'm new to this way of communication I thought I'd give it a try.
