Used Jet equipment–blue vs white
In general, would you agree, and how strongly, that Jet equipments, jointers, bandsaws, and table saws, have improved in quality so that the newer ones are decidedly better beyond just less in age? White is better than blue?

Some of the older blue stuff was not very good from what I hear. But the quality improved a lot before they went white. I have a Jet lathe, 14" bandsaw, and DC1200 duct collector - all made shortly before they switched to white. All have served me well for years. Until I upgraded to a Powermatic PM2000 saw, I used a Jet contractor's saw whch also served its purpose and is now in the shop of a happy woodworker.

A Western ToolSupply dealer told me the Jet name is going away so if that is true your question may become not applicable.
Why would the Jet name be not applicable in the used tool market? I think they will be referred to as Jet for a long long time.
What I mean is that the new Jet tools will come out with other names than Jet. Its kind of like Rockwell. The tools were Rockwell, then Delta Rockwell, and now only Delta. Jet has bought up several prestigeous names such as Powermatic.
They are all under the WMH Tool Group umbrella, and appear to be Jet, Powermatic and Wilton. Hard to understand them dropping the Jet name, it's so well know. Interesting to watch, it will be.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
