Any ideas on how best to hide joiner imperfections on a project made of cherry? I plan to use a Danish oil finish. I basically need to fill a 1/32 inch wide gap that is about 2″ long. My past attempts using puddybuddylue/sawdust mixtures did more to highlight the flaw rather than hiding it.

Steve,
You fill a 1/32" X 2" gap in cherry with a 1/32" X 2" sliver of cherry using liquid hide glue. The area won't disappear but it surely will be less easy to spot.
The real question is why is your joiner doing this? It sounds as if your infeed/outfeed needs to be adjusted.
Wood filler is not a good choice for repairs if there are alternatives.
