I’m surprised that Delta would offer two tools that appear to be so similar. But that is not my concern, really. Since they are only $100 different at Amazon, I am ready to get the 959 with 3/4hp motor (vs 1/2 hp) and the extra 1″ quill travel, rather than the 950. Are these the only two differences? Actually, the final deciding factor for me was that the 959 is heavier, and I assume will be more stable. Am I correct?
Just wondering if anyone has compared them in person. I am hoping this will be the last drill press I ever buy.
Thanks,
Myron

The Delta website shows the 20-950 to be a 20" variable speed, 1-1/2 hp 6" quill travel.
There's a 17-950 and a 17-959 which have subtle differences and both appear to have the laser.
You should be checking the manufacturers site for details. I'm less likely to trust Amazon for accurate details. They don't carry the full line to make comparisons.
