Anyone have a good source here in the US?
I can get them from Diefenbacher tools at a ridiculous price, or from Dieter Schmid in Germany, at reasonable prices, but shipping is expensive.
I have tried Pfeil, but not really impressed as the veiner out of the box turned it’s edges over, after the first few strokes, I had to increase the angles. Also, they don’t seem to hold their edges longer than my real el-cheapo starting set, so I wish to try something a bit harder.

Hi Jellyrug,
I have purchased Two Cherries carving tools from http://www.toolsforworkingwood.com in NYC. The folks here are great, but I think you will find the price for the Two Cherries carving tools priced as ridiculous as your other sources, they are expensive. I found them especially expensive considering the amount of work that was needed to shape and hone cutting edge of the tool vs the Pfeils.
Best of luck.

Look for Hirsch tools. I have heard great things about them, and apparently they are part of the same company. (Little help here?) Lee Valley has the Hirsch chisels, I haven't looked for the carving tools.

Hi Jellyrug, here is another place to look at: http://mikestools.com/Two_Cherries_Pages/Two_Cherries_Carving_Tools_catalog.asp
I have purchased the Two Cherries bevel chisels from them, quick shipping good to deal with.
