I haven’t been here in a long time, but it’s nice to know Knots is still alive and kicking. I’ve been asked to make a tray like the one pictured from solid mahogany for a client. I am concerned that the miters on the sides will pull apart or jam together as the wood expands and contracts. Any thoughts on how to assemble it taking wood movement into account? I’m thinking of setting the tray base in a shallow groove like a drawer bottom and only gluing one side, but I’m not sure that the tray will hold together properly. Thanks.
