I just finished staining a bookcase with gel stain and I need to put a little more protection on it(it’s going in my 3yr old son’s room). I was going to put some arm r seal on it but I checked the General finish web site and they referenced a gel top coat that they sell. Would the Arm r seal not work or worse ruin the project?
Thanks in advance.

You will be fine with the arm-r-seal. Shouldn't hurt a thing. They sell a gel topcoat but I don't think that they mean that is all you can use as a topcoat over their gel stains.

Thanks for the help. I tested it on my scrap piece and it looks fine. I've learned the hard way don't try something new or unknown on the work piece. The good news I actually follow my own advice.
