Can anyone recommend a Tooling company or Machine Shop service that can enlarge the bore on various saw blades?
I have a set of HSS Slitting Saws, 40 tooth x 5″ x 1/8″ x 1″ bore (Grizzly G9499) that I need bored out to 1-1/4″ to fit on a 1-1/4″ shaper spindle shaft.
I also will need several 10″ carbide-tipped blades bored out from standard 5/8″ bore to fit a Hammer/Felder saw arbor (1″ plus locating holes).
Thanks,
Rich

Try Ballew Saw & Tool. If they can't do it, they might be able to send you to someone who can.

Thanks bd.
Forrest Manufacturing will bore the blades. The arbor hole is 30mm not 1". The pin hole spec is 2/9/46.35mm (2-9mm holes on 46.35mm centers. My favorite blade for my Hammer is the Freud Fusion 300mm. The bore looks like it was machined as I see very fine evenly spaced tooling marks. Freud used a 3/8" bit for the pin holes, it works fine but I expected a nicer job from Freud. The Fusion gives an excellent cut and chip free cuts on plywood. I did not have any of my blades re-bored. Since the saw will use up to 300mm/315mm blades that is what I use.
I also have a Tenryu IW-30050CBD3 that was $80, inexpensive for such a high quality blade. It cuts like the Tenryu Gold Metal I used on my Unisaw, which was the best blade I ever used on the Unisaw. It produced excellent cuts in hard wood, was quiet and felt effortless when cutting. I have not tried this blade since I got the Freud Fusion but I will again soon.

Thanks Jerry.
Rich, I had the wrong part number in my post. It is a Tenryu IW-30050CBD3 and it was only $80. It is really an excellent blade and made in Japan. I recommended it over on the FOG and a user bought one and was impressed. It was factory bored and has keyhole style pin drive holes to allow use on other saws with a 30mm bore size. I talked with Ian at Tenryu USA and he recommended it. He sent it to my local dealer and told me to try it and if I liked it purchase it, if not just return it to the dealer. This was excellent customer service from Tenryu.
