I am in the process of reviewing some old 5″ wide by 5/8″+ oak boards. The boards are quite rough on one side, but I expect to be able to get 2 1/4″ pieces from each board.
My concern is how to tongue and groove them so that they can be used for wainscoting.
The only router bits that I have seen that will work on 1/4″ stock is a Bead & Cove set.
Another thought that I had was to get a thin kerf saw blade for my table saw and use that, but that would require more passes, and I have a lot to do.
Any suggestions that you might have will be appreciated.
Thanks

T&G on the edge of 1/4" stock is going to be a bit fragile.
Make the groove with a conventional or thin kerf saw blade and make the tongue with the two outer cutters from a dado blade set with a spacer in between them to get the space you need. The spacers can be cardboard and paper washers.
