Just got an email from Jet offering a $1995 table saw for $895!! It’s a Fathers Day “Special Offer” that definitely got my attention, because:
1. I’m a Father (twice).
2. An $1100 discount almost always gets my interest!
Anyone know anything about this deal?

You could always call them to verify that the e-mail is legit.
It's legit!! The website shows two Woodcraft stores as retailers in my area and I've spent the past several minutes talking to them. Neither of them knew about this deal until their phones started ringing, but they've verified the offering with Jet. Since neither of them have the saw in stock ($895 is below their cost), it will be specially ordered. I've been looking semi-seriously for a couple of years now and this deal pulls the trigger for me.We're going to #2 daughters house tomorrow and will pass within a few blocks of one of the stores as we go. I've just informed SWMBO that we're taking a detour. - lol
I wouldn't call it "too good to be true", but I'd look at it more as a "hybrid saw on sale for $895", as opposed to "$1100 off". It was way overpriced to start with, which is likely why you read so few comments from people who've actually bought the new & improved Super Saw. The slider and 52" rip capacity have some appeal.

And I think the new Ridgid (Yes a Big Box) has the newer Granite top for about $600.00. My older Ridgid WORKS and then some. Only gripe is the motor sticks out the back.. I have a very small shop..I'd get the new stone top one but I cannot put my slider on it!
It's on their website, so it's legit.
As long as you are ok with a hybrid, it looks like a nice deal.
In 1993 I bought a Jet Hybrd - they were blue back then - because I couldn't afford a Unisaw or a General but needed to upgrade from my Craftsman contractor saw. It was going to be my interim saw, until I could get a real cabinet saw.
I still have it and have not found the need to upgrade. It has done everything I have asked of it.
So... if you don't see a much higher priced true cabinet saw as an option for you, this looks like a solid move to make.
If I see any negative, it would be the 1-3/4HP. Mine is 2HP 220v and, like I said, has done what I've asked of it. Not sure how that smaller moter is going to impact things? Are there a lot of 8/4 and larger hardwood projects in your future?

I had a Jet hybrid (bought in 2004) for several years and found it to be a pretty good saw, with one exception. The mechanism used to raise and lower the blade is a very poor design. It uses a small timing belt rather than direct gear drive. If you don't clean the sawdust from the gears religiously it increases the force necessary to raise/lower the blade and breaks the belt. Even cleaning my saw with a good vacumn after every few hours of use I still broke quite a few belts which cost $20 plus dollars each, plus shipping.
I don't know if the saw on sale utilizes the same design or not but it's worth checking out.
I sold it an bought a used Grizzly 1023. The Grizzly is heads and tails above the Jet, in my opinion.

The new Super Saw still uses a timing belt, but they've supposedly improved it. I'd still prefer to see a traditional gear mechanism.

Thanks for the update. That looks exactly like the one I had.
That's enough reason to exclude this saw from consideration. It's a real pain to constantly be cleaning the innards of the saw to make it works easier and still break the belts on a regular basis.
