I’m about to upgrade my sanding machine from a Performax to the new Timesaver Speedsander wide belt sander (37″) or a reconditioned but narrower AEM (25″). One cabinet shop I spoke with said they love the Timesaver Speedsander machine, and the price is very tempting. Does anyone have experience to share on the Timesaver or know of any published reviews – I haven’t found any. Bill

I bought mine last summer at the woodworking show in Anaheim, Calif.. I went to another both and pick up some oak veneer that was laminated to MDF and it ran smooth/even
Unfortunitly, I have not been able to run mine since it has packed away in storage due to us moving from Calif to Wash.
If you can wait about a 2-3 weeks, I'll let you know.
I paid $7000 for mine with no sales tax or shipping, due to me buying it out of state and one of the head sales guys said they would pay the shipping, since the machines had not yet arrived in the states.
There is a stocking dealer in Ontario Calif, and another dealer that is in Portland called Barbo Machinery. Barbo has a local rep in the Seattle area, if that helps.
If your out my way, your welcome to come and check the machine out.
Migraine: Looks like we may both find out together. I've scheduled next Wednesday off to test and pick up one of these sanders. I'm in Illinois and the dealer, GC Peterson, is in Minnesota, so I've got to make a decision on the spot. I'm going to take a wide cherry board, joint and flatten one side, and see how well the machines perform flattening the other side and then sanding both sides. I'll let you know how it works. Thanks for mentioning the tax issue - I hadn't thought of that. Bill
They sell the casters for about $200 a set or more and they are hard plastic. You can get a better set of Colson casters from a local supplier.
Make sure yu have a way to get the machine off a truck. They weigh around 1000 lbs. There are machinery hooks on top for lifting.
take along calipers to check for parallel thickness, and a good straight edge to check flat..
BTDT..used a dual belt SCMI for days on end..

Did you ever buy the sander? what did you think??
Bought it, love it!!!
I FINALLY got mine up and running today. Well sort of... it keeps popping the reset on the machine, not my breaker panel. Every once in a while it will start to run and does fine until you turn it off and then the problem starts all over again.
Did you have any problems will getting yours up and running? Mine is a 10hp/3phase running on a rotary converter
No, I didn't have any problems. My guess, and it is only a guess, is that it has something to do with the rotary converter. Fortunately, I already had 3 phase in my shop, and I'm running the 10 horse 3 phase with no problem. Probably time to invest in an electrician.
