The article in April 06 FW re: “beading a drawer” speaks of a “slicing gauge”. It is obviously an important tool in the beading process. I have never heard of a slicing gauge and haven’t found one on an internet search. The closest I have found is a tool called a balsa slicer which looks very similar to the pictured tool in FW. It would have been nice if the author would have mentioned a little more about this tool.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

"Slicing gauge" is another way of describing a marking gauge with a "slicing-style" cutter as opposed to a pin cutter.
Here is an article that discusses the various styles of marking gauges. You can also browse the Tool Guide for information on marking gauges from various manufacturers.
