We’ve recently moved to Bangkok and want a local shop to copy an english pedestal round dining table, G&G inspired chairs by Morris Sheppard and a desk of my own imagination. I like the natural look of the solid rosewood, but want to know if I am better having the table and desk tops built using a teak-veneered plywood. They do not have a rosewood veneer available.

This is a tough one. It might be best to find a good cabinetmaker (who should know what materials work best in the Thai climate) and go over options with him. If you explain the end-result you want, chances are he can find a way to get you there.
Good luck,
David Heim
David...yes, I agree and appreciate the advice. I will follow up with pictures of the results in 3 months time.
I look forward to seeing the furniture. Best of luck.
