Hi Matt what material goes on the back of the tambours when they are being made, I know it is cloth. Is it like a burlap or something finer? Thanks Matt.

I had to look up the answer to this one because I don't have any experience with making tambours. An article in our archives that details the process (see link below) recommends using a 12 oz. artists canvas. Give it a read, you may find more useful construction tips.
