I have a Delta contractor’s saw. I’ve got (I think) a unique phenomenon that I have not seen before, nor do I have a solution to. As I raise the blade through a new phenolic insert, the cut in the insert warps toward the fence. The blade is flat (actually brand new), even when mounted in the saw. What I think is happening is this: As I raise the blade, the cutting takes place at the outermost ends of the slot. Somehow, the blade is drifting ever so slightly to the right as it is raised. All of the adjustments or tuning that I’ve seen or read about do not address this. Has anyone seen this happen? Is there a way for me to correct it?

I have no knowledge of the delta contactors saw but I have seen it on a cabinet saw.It was caused by the blade and arbour moving sideways complete with the bearing housing. The solution was a simple retightening and threadlocker on a grub screw that retained it. Sorry that I cannot be more specific but this may give you a clue as to where to start looking.Get the table off and you will probably spot the cause.Tablesaws are really crude and simple machines
Thanks - I'll take a look at it. When I first noticed it, I thought the blade had warped, but having verified it was still flat, I didn't know where to look.

I have seen this happen if the blade is not 90 degrees to the table.

The stop of the tilt is not stopping it at 90 Deg to the table...if it is at 90 deg there is no way it will come thru on an angle...

After taking some more detailed measurements, I did confirm the blade is at 90 degrees, but there are other adjustment issues, including the one I first wrote about, that I need to correct. Thanks for your help.
