table height for Delta 22-580 planer?
I just got my Delta 22-580 planer and am considering building a table, rather than buying one. I’m confused as to what a good working height would be. I’m 5′ 9″. The working surface of my old jointer is at 43″ and feels too high. The guy I bought it from must have been really tall. What do you experienced folks think?

Try measuring from your beltline to the floor, see if that's a height your hands fall to naturally.
Alternatively, measure from your closed fist to the floor, try that for a height.
Edit: with your hand held loosely at your side.

Morty,
The 220-580 planer should be bolted to a strong stand or cabinet no more than 25" to (under) 30" tall. This measurement applies to all portable planers. This height keeps the center of gravity low enough to be safe and stable, yet high enough to be comfortable for the operator.
One of the smaller planers in my shop is actually the same 22-580, and it sits on a 28" high shop built stand. The larger cast iron planers (which push close to 300 lbs in weight - read: non-mobile) their tables are no more than 20" off of the floor.
