It's interesting that the SUVA guard, hold-down system, and riving knife are essentially unchanged from the same SUVA features on my 33 year old Inca saw. Other than Delta, Powermatic, etc. finding ways to make things more cheaply and shoddily SawStop seems to be the only innovation in the North American style tablesaws in that same period.
If it works - don't fix it
SUVA are in a good position to recommend safety guards, etc. since they are the:
Inspectors > see what happens in the field
Insurer > see what accidents happen and how caused
Preventer > using input from the first 2 how to prevent accidents and design suitable guards et. and sell them - to make up the petty cash..
By law in Switzerland all employees have to be covered for professional AND non-professional accidents by their employers. People receiving unemployment benefits are automatically covered by SUVA.
Pensioners are often covered for accidents by their last employer (who pays the pension).
If none of these apply - the sickness insurance (Compulsory) can cover for Accidents.
Typical Swiss - its either compulsory or illegal -).
