Hi Gary I was looking through a FWW and your school projects and I noticed a picture of the Sushi Box I liked it because it is a very simple design and elegant at the same time. I made it from your article in FWW but I changed the dimension a little I made it a little taller. I made mine for my 14 yr old daughter as a keepsake, I made mine out of mahogany that I purchased at my favorite lumber store http://www.kjpselecthardwoods.com/. Could you take a look Gary and tell me what you think. Thanks MarkHave fun woodworking but respect your tools

Hi Mark,
Well I like the box. Of course it's a design I have liked for some time now. The taller sides look nice and I particularly the turned knob. That looks good. I would consider for next time perhaps putting a slight chamfer or edge detail on the bottom edge of the box. Just so it sits off the surface a bit visually. I also couldn't see if the top overhangs or is flush. I prefer an overhang. But these are just my opinions. Have fun. Gary
