Do any of you use your turned or otherwise produced products as dishes, cups and bowls for daily eating?
Years ago I made all of my dishes and bowls with ceramics. Now that I’m getting into woodworking I’d like to do the same but have concerns about food safety of finishes, durability and dishwashers.

I don't want to hijack but this is closely related... what finishes will hold up to kitchen heat (eg an appropriate finish for a maple trivet, onto which hot pans will be placed).
