I’m working on several cabinets for a customer who would like to avoid using any door handles or knobs on their cabs. I can’t use a finger pull edge detail since they want solid slab, overlay, doors with 1/8″ spacing between the doors and drawer fronts.
I had thought of using those magnetic, spring loaded, push style openers, but can’t see how they would work with an overlay door.
Anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks

You generally need to position the door so that there is a gap of around 1/8" between the back face of the door and the cabinet frame. That's the "minimum working distance" of the latch, and it will vary from one kind to another.

Dave , If your using a Euro hinge chances are the hinge side has a gap normally for clearance . Usually we use bumper pads anyways so in this case use the free swinging hinges .
I am using some for flush inset doors now and measured the "touch latch" and these take about 3/32 to release, I think they will work fine put a bumper pad on the opposite end as the latch let the latch hang out an 1/8" , the pads are about an 1/8" I think .
I have also seen some old time looking hardware that is a button you push that releases a hook latch .
