Hey Gang,
I am looking for some filters (for lack of a better word) that mount on the siphon tube to filter out particles before they are sucked into the spray gun. I was given one, and have cleaned it and re-used it to death. I can’t seem to find any place that sells them online.
They are made of plastic, with a small screen all the way around them, and they just press-fit onto the end of the siphon tube. My camera is on the blink or I wouuld post pictures so you could see exactly what I am talking about.
Anyone seen these for sale anywhere? A search for spray gun filters seems to get me results for filtering the air.
Thanks,
Lee

I've seen them at SpraygunWorld. Look for siphon tube filters.

Dick,
yes, I was thinking Spray Gun World might have them, but I have not had anywhere near good results with that company. Weeks of calling leaving messages with specific questions, so that I could purchase a gun. Seems they have 2 employees, a secretary who knows nothing about spraying, and a guy who has all the answers but won't answer his phone or return calls.
And to add insult to injury, after 3 weeks, I called to find out where the hell my stuff was, and was told "oh, it's on it's way". I got it a week later. Seems like maybe they forgot to ship until I called and reminded them I paid for it and never received it.

You say that it goes on the end of the siphon tube? Does that mean that you're using a siphon-feed cup gun?
I can't say as I've ever seen a fluid filter on a cup gun, but that aside what you're describing sounds very much like the disposable filters that most gravity guns come with. I always threw mine away and never really payed attention to a replacement source.
If that's the kind of filter you're talking about then just about everyone is going to be able to sell them to you but the filters are not usually deemed valuable enough to really justify their own marketing space. Here's one source that I found via Google: http://www.mytoolstore.com/astro/astpai06.html Not sure if those will work on the end of a siphon tube though...
Kevin,
what you linked to was similar to what I am talking about. Funny, because the spray gun I got the original filter with was an astro pneumatic gun - same company shown at the link. I guess I will just have to keep digging.
Thanks,
Lee
P.S.
yes, these are for a siphon feed gun I am using.

Turbinaire makes a 4 pack, part number TSG-1185.
Here is an outfit that sells them if you don't have a Turbinaire dealer handy.

Astro used to sell a three pack but I don't remember seeing then in their catalog the last few years and I can't find them listed on their website. You might give them a call to see if they still have them. Ask for Billy, I think he knows every last part they have. Their phone is (800) 221-9705.------------------------------------
