I’m staining birchwood cabinets, and I can not get the birchwood to stain like the cabintry I saw at Home Depot. Without getting into the procedure, the finish is not there. Someone told me birchwood, maple and cherry woods is applied with spray, not wipe. Please advise me.
Thank you.

Hello sonja ,
It would help us help you to know more details . Have you only put stain on without a sealer or top coat ? What color does the Home depot call the piece you saw and liked ? Can you attach a photo of the color you want ? Was the finish opaque or transparent ? It is true some finishes are sprayed on and others may be wiped on , some spray on and wipe off . The parameters are wide in answering your question , try and narrow down the field and someone here will surely be able to help you out .
good luck dusty
