I guess it is safe to assume that you are planning to use it to flatten something?Have you compared the cost of this to, just getting a good diamond hone on a sturdy plate? Instead of being a consumable grit which is lost, it would be useful for many things over and over. Maybe I don't understand everything involved though. Diamonds really cut faster than most grits. They are no longer just a girl's best friend.
Keith,I was going to us it on an old plane to seat the frog to the body. Charlesworth recommends it and this old plane is pretty trashed so I figure it is a good tool to learn on. Shawn
I found valve grinding paste quite effective for that job, no doubt there is list of reasons as long your arm not to use it......but it worked for me.

Try lapidary suppliers. They use lots in the polishing and flattening of rocks.
