Does anyone know of a source for used woodworking machines in the New England area? Like an auction house or the like. I am interested in finding older machines 40s-70s or so and restoring them. I am partial to the Rockwell/Delta tools.
I have used the CT bargin news before and have tried Ebay. There is some great stuff on ebay but of course it is all over the country and I like to look in person before I buy.
Thanks a lot!

I'm in Mass and have used the Bargain News as well. The simple answer is there is no simple answer. There's a paper out of eastern Mass that is similar to Bargain News called Want Advertiser and some of the smaller local regional papers have stuff as well. You have to be very diligent to find them. In my experience the better deals are on the bigger three phase stuff. Some times answering an ad on something else and just asking if they know of any other people with equipment for sale might lead to other possible sources. There's auction houses all over New England but again it's hit and miss. Just how persevering are you?
You might try Bill via email at [email protected]. He is near the Pa / Md. border, about an hour SW of Philadelphia. He has a selection of older machines of very good quality. Olivers and the like. Many are 3ph but not all. They are not necessarily inexpensive, but good tools are not cheap. See my post on the 12" jointer. It is from him. Might be worth a 6 hour drive if he has what you need. I found him honorable in all respects. He does know his machinery, and I needed that knowledge.
