I need 60 5″ long stainless steel screws. Square drive deck screws would be ideal. I know they exist, I see them on Swan’s web site. I even see them in one pound boxes of about 30 per box. Problem is, I can’t find any place to buy just 60. I can find 100 for $60, or I can go to the boating store and buy them for $2 each. Although it is at least partially because I am cheap, it’s also because it’s senseless to have 40 screws hanging around the shop collecting dust. Does anyone know where I can buy two one pound boxes of 5″ stainless deck screws? |

They are an industrial quantity supplier near here that has a small consumer internet only business.
Always try McMaster first. They have everything...

Quickstep, I found the greatest place for GRK screws last year. Let me find the store name, and I'll check if they have those. It was a place back East, and was by far the best price around.
OK, I found 'em. Don't know if they can provide the smallish quantity you need, but it's worth a call -- Warren's Wood Works, (410) 820-8984. They were extreeeeemly helpful and super-competitive price-wise when we got the SS screws for our deck.

FG,
You're a godsend. This place is right in my back yard!
Hah, that's funny! I gotta tell you, they were a godsend for us last year. The price from the places around here were ridiculous. Then I stumbled on Warren's and called them. Great guy answered the phone, good prices, reasonable shipping costs (those little tubs of stainless are h-e-a-v-y) even all the way across the country!
Best of luck, hope they can help you out!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
