I was thinking about how it would turn out if I just glued maybe 5, 1/2″planks together and chiseled out the inside, shape the outside somehow and make a bowl that way.
Would it be posible?

make it simple. cut rings from your planks in smaller diameters and then stack them glued up. that way you waste less wood and save a lot of trouble.
Thanks
I will start my project tomarrow and if I remember I will take pictures as I go.
I think I will use the jigsaw to cut out the rings this time, maybe it will work out better that way.You can't fix something if you haven't broken it yet.
Julie:
Try this. Lay out a bowl shape that you want to make. This will include the center line and the outside and inside contours.
Now if you lay out lines parallel to the base to simulate the thickness of the boards that you intend to use,you can see the exact angles of the outside and inside ring diameters as well as the angles required for the shape you have selected. A careful glue up and you have the shape ready for a minimal clean up.
I hope this helps. Work safely¬¬¬¬¬¬¬PAT¬¬¬¬¬¬¬
