Customer expressing an interest in slant top desk I built many years ago for another. For that one I used plans from Thos Moser book, and it seemed some of the drawings had been “simplified” in placed. But might have been my imagination. Anyway, has anyone seen other drawings for slant-top desk with pull out runners?
Thanks.

There are a couple of exploded drawing (not measured) in Jeffrey Greene American Furniture of the 18th Century,Taunton. You needn't do the ball and claw feet.
Franklin Gottshall Making Early American and Country Furniture, Dover has more complete measurement and construction guidance for a nice desk with quarter columns.
You needn't do the ball and claw feet. I tried to make 4 once and was disapponted with my work.. They all looked different!
You typed Dover. Dover Books?
I think it's formally Dover Publications, Inc. Lots and lots of neat, older books reprinted in quite decent paperback editions, at vert decent prices. Check out http://www.doverpublications.com .
Norman Vandal has a desk on frame, p 198 ff of Queen Anne Furniture. Donald Dunlap has very detailed drawings on p 154 ff of The Dunlap Cabinetmakers, though some of the detail work is a little unusual.

Don,
Two other Dover books have desk drawings; Salamonsky's Masterpieces of Furniture, and Margons Construction of American Furniture Treasures.
But these plans are very detailed.

You won't be disappointed. I have no connection with them, other than an acquaintance with the late Mr Lynch.

Dover books ARE WONDERFUL! Many types of subjects!
I recommend them to anybody!
Will,
Yup, they are a treasure-trove.

Thanks for the suggestions that have already come in. Made a list, I'll check the local library online catalog later. Not as interesting as mushrooming discourse on fungi, but very helpful to this little (non) fruiting body.
