As a part of our parents estate we have and are interested in selling a 30+ year old, 17″ W by 41″ L by 2″ thick, clean (one knot on a corner) slab of walnut wood from a tree that an Uncle had cut down on his property in Western Pa, (East Brady, Pa.)back in the late 1960’s. The edges and end grain had/are sealed with wax. Slab is located in Amityville (Long Island) NY 11701.
If interested please reply with your best offer and when you can pick it up.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you seem to have about 9.6 board ft of a rather common hardwood. Does anyone out there think it's worth anymore than 50-60 bucks... at best?

What is even more correct is that this is NOT the place to sell anything. There is a classified section for this very thing.
And, you are correct. Pieces of wood like walnut, maple, cherry, etc....that are this small are in every corner of every garage and woodshop where a woodworker lives. I wouldn't give half of what you stated for it, unless it were a beautiful piece of crotch wood.

Air dried walnut cut from a residence is not very valuable. I just carried a 14'X 16" X 2" KD walnut board into my shop yesterday. I have two more in my storage shed and those trees came from a woods and are straight as a string. Someone is giving you bad advice about the value of your piece of wood.
Thanks all, for your advice. We have no idea what the value of the board is as I was given this site to find some answers. The piece of wood that we have was cut down by a professional, is straight as a board having no knots in it and is 41 inches long...by 17 inches wide .. My apologies for not exploring the site enough to see that there is a "classified" area.. I'll check that out. Regard to all
