I run a 15 man mill shop and we are in the process of moving from a 5000 sqft building to a 20,000 sqft space. Are there any books or other information sources out there that can aid me in the layout of machines and workspaces?

Taunton has published two books on workshop design and layout (older one by Jim Tolpin, newer one just out) but don't know how applicable they would be to your large shop. There was an article I think a couple years ago in FWW describing a larger shop layout in the top of a barn, but that still was for only two people. I used to sometimes look at a discussion site for commercial users, I think it was called Woodweb or Wood Central.
Don, any idea of an issue number for that article you are referring to? I am presently debating further renovation of my barn/shop or building new.
Thanks, Mike

More than just layout, it might be time to re-engineer your processes.
