Does anyone know of software (Preferably free, of course) that allows you to input dimensions for a bunch of cabinet components such as sides, bases, shelves, an so on, and will show you cutting diagrams for sheets of plywood, MDF, etc.?
Thanks.

Alan,
I tried out the trial version of Cutlist a while back and eventially purchased the full product. It is a real time (and money) saver. Check it out.

Jerry,
If you do not mind my asking, did you purchase the silver or gold edition? I have been looking at the gold because it seemed like there was more flexibility in storing "parts" of a project (in my case, I would like to store whole cabinets, and then drag them into bigger jobs - for example - store all the pieces of 24, 30, 36 inch base cabinets, etc. individually and then call them up as needed for a job).
It didn't seem that you could do that with the silver addition. (or there was a limit to the # of pieces, IIRC)
Thanks,
Lee
Lee,
I purchased the silver edition. I can see how the more powerful gold edition would be useful in building a "pieces parts" library. The program has a lot of features that I have not tried yet. It would be helpful if other "knotheads" that are using Cutlist might share their application experiences.
Best!

Lee, have you asked over at Breaktime? Seems like there'd be cabinet people over there who use it for that purpose.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
"Cutlist" is the program I used to make a couple of 'Wood' magazine's modular cabinets.
Laid everything out and got a cutting diagram. Then I messed up actually cutting the parts. So I just reentered the size of the plywood I had and the parts I needed and got a new layout. Best cutting program I have ever used!
