I live in Orinda, a bedroom community just east of Berkeley, CA, and am looking for classes, tutor, or courses in fine woodworking. College of the Redwoods course looks promising, but my wife isn’t keen on living in Ft. Bragg for 9 months.
I’ve heard Laney college offered something and will try them. I’d prefer NOT to have to travel over to SF, but will do so if there is nothing in the east Bay. Thanks for any information….

SF Bay area courses

you didn't say what type of course/instruction you were looking for. The Japan Woodworker runs classes, as does Woodcraft (San Carlos or Sac area) but these are mostly beginner to intermediate type classes on a specific topic.
Other options are available such but are more career or advanced orientated. Of course you could take one of the many week or two week courses around the country.
Dale,
There is a wood working school that is affiliated with The Japan Woodworker in Alameda. I don't have firsthand experience with it, but it looks to be a nice program/school. Check it out on The Japan Woodworker website.
