   Look up plywood in the yellow pages. A larger metro area phone book will most likely have several sources or check with local cabinet shops to see where they buy. Also called wacky wood and there's bending poplar which is available in both grain directions.

   Did you check Steve Wall lumber, in Mayodan, NC.  I didn't see it on their web pages but they may be able to get it for you.

   North Carolina has been a large furniture manufacturing area. Can't imagine you can't get it locally. Bending poplar and wacky board are common items in a plywood dealer.  There's also Kerfcore...not really what you asked for but it has applications and there's many kinds of sheet goods that most hobby folks don't even imagine exist.
