In the FW archives, I keep seeing references to an outfit called Iturra Designs in Jacksonville, Florida…folks raving about their catalog and lots of references to this firm in connection with bandsaw issues. But the company seems to have disappeared…it is totally unfindable. Anyone know if it was sold and now operates under another name? Or did it just fold and disappear? I would love to do business with them but gotta find ’em first. Many thanks, everyone. 4/29/09

They don't have a web site. The phone is 866-883-8064 or 904-371-3998. It was good when I talked to them in Feb.
BINGO! Many thanks, David. Just got off the phone with them and they're sending me a catalog. I had found other, older numbers that had gone out of service without any forwarding info.
Thanks again.

Thanks for responding...I really appreciate it. Unfortunately that 888 number has been disconnected. But...it turns out that the info DavidB posted is accurate and current for Iturra Design: voice: 866-883-8064 and fax: 904-371-3998.
All best,
Bruce
Thanks for the update.
Just a heads up to be patient if you're ordering a catalog. It's worth the wait, however long......
Thanks very much! Patience is not my strong suit so this will be good practice!
Yeah, it's difficult sometimes. (Edit: I'm not saying shipment of product might be slow, more like catalogs, especially when they're about to print a new one) I get the sense that Iturra is a truly old-fashioned family-owned business and their focus is on the products, computers and web sites falling by the wayside. All speculation on my part. I may have an old catalog I could send you, they always have all kinds of good reading about bandsaws within the covers, reading that could stand on its own feet, without the product listings.
PS: Bend, OR?? Are you having the same gorgeous weather us Seattleites are today and yesterday?

You're very kind...thanks. If I don't get the catalog by the Fourth of July, I'll take you up on your generous offer. The weather here in Bend is typical of central Oregon this time of year: couple of teaser days in the 70's followed by a couple of weeks in the 40's! Then one day it'll be 80 and there will be no turning back until late October!
Thanks again!

It took about 4 months for me to get a catalog in 2007. I had given up. Worth it however.
That's hilarious...these folks must be doing something right! Everybody seems to love them. Thanks.
I think they Xerox the catalog, LOL! Louis Iturra knows bandsaws like nobody's business. forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
