Just received a few pieces of freshly cut pecan. May I use a paint to seal the ends in lieu of any special product. I have plenty of paint on hand. Thanks, Turnedtime

A couple of coats of any common paint will work well. For a small amount of wood, I just apply duct tape to the ends of the boards.
