hey all saw stop owners. i cant get the saw into bypass mode.the manual says to turn key clockwise and hold it for atleast a 1 second. while holding the key turned, pull the start stop paddle out to the on position, then the blade will start to spin. MY problem is it doesnt do anything. Am i suppose to assume the small on off switch is already on? It also say the brake cartridge must be installed correctly and all error codes are cleared. Does this mean that the cartridge is too far from blade? anybody else had this problem? I didnt have a problem till i had to replace the blade shaft assembly and had to put new brake on. Saw still works in normal mode
thanks Clay

the blade arbor assembly went bad and saw stop sent me new one(no cost to me was still in the 2yr warranty)but was a crap load of labor to replace. The blade start to wobble and nick up the zero clearnace insert and ithought it was a bad blade. So i changed the blade and it still wobbled, but then the braked grabbed the blade and thats when i called saw stop and they informed me that the arbor to the blade needed to be replaced.Apparently there is some sort of teflon or material to house the shaft with wire leads to insulate the blade from other metal objects so the wire leads that are attached to the arbor assembly can read the blade for electrical conductive materials(blood and skin) to set the brake. If this happens to yours and they send out the new arbor shaft, get instructions from saw stop directly and dont use the supplied instructions or you will be resetting and readjusting most of the saw.You can replace the arbor with out removing the table from the side door and top.I did have to buy new brake though.
Thanks for the info. Sorry I can't help with the bypass problem. Mine works as advertised.Cheers,Peter

hey peter, called saw stop talked to roger garcia and he helped me figure it out.It wasnt the electrical hook up it was very simple. When he wen thruogh the steps with me to get it i bypass,i realized the key was not turning a full 90degrees, wiggled the key in further and it fixed the problem,Apparently the new keys i ordered didnt quite exactly fit,and when wiggled it seated all the way in.Problem fixed, sorry to bother all.
