I did an entertain hutch and the part where the TV will sit was painted white. 1st coat was Kilz primer and satin blocker, next came two coats of ultra white Valspar latex paint followed by 2 coats of Min Wax Polycrilic. I got some sawdust on it and like an idiot I didn’t clean it off. Now the whole top has a bronze coating which I can’t wipe off and I don’t want to sad it and repaint it.
Does anyone know off a short cut to clean this up?

If you want to remove the saw dust you may be able to sand it off of the surface assuming the saw dust is only in the final polycrylic layer. That would necessitate only redoing the final coat. Be careful though if you cut through into the lower levels you may have a tough time getting everything matched up and would have to strip the finish off and start over.
This is a complete shot in the dark, so wait until someone else confirms it or shoots it down, and save it as a last resort, but I'm wondering if it would be possible to gently sand (to get a good "sticking" surface), re-prime with something reallllly good, and then re-do the entire painting sequence on top of what's already there.
Well, today I went through some cleaning sprays, windex, simple green, mineral spirits et..... Not worked so I sanded it done to remove the poly and put a coat of Kilz on it. Right now at 6:11 pm it has bled thru which tells me I have to strip it to bare wood and refinish. Thanks for the input but it is going to be a long day tomorrow.
Serious bummer! If it bled through Kilz, it is wicked, wicked stuff!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
I am going to sand it down again to morning, seal it and use a white enamel and see if that does the trick.
