Saw blade for Powermatic PM2000
I just got a new Powermatic PM2000 table saw. It is a great piece of equipment. The only problem I have had so far is the width of the riving knife. The kerf of the sw blade I am using is not as wide as the knife. Is anyone else having this problem? What blades are you using? I have used Forest blades before and realy like them.
Thanks.

You probably have a thin kerf blade, switching over to a full kerf blade will solve the problem. Almost all blade manufacturers make both thin and full width versions of their blades.

I have the same saw and installed a Forrest 40t combination blade that is 1/8 inch thick. Works great. I also replaced the standard riving knife with the optional riving knife that is shaped like the Euro version.
Is that different than the one that came with the saw? Where did you get the new one? Do you have a part number or name?
Thanks for your help.
Big C, I removed the original blade as most new saws usually come with a cheap blade and the pm2000 is no exception, IMO. I bought the Forrest at Rockler for about $100.00. A little pricey, but worth it. I believe it's called the Woodworker II. It comes in two thicknesses, a thinner kerf for 1.5 hp contractor type saws and the thicker kerf for 3 hp and larger cabinet saws. Hope this helps.
After reviewing this post, I wasn't sure what you were referring to. Therefore, I got the optional riving knife through Powermatic. Their number is in the manual, as well info about the knife, itself. It cost 36 bucks. I also bought a couple of zero clearance throat plates, one for the balde and one for my dado set.
The Riving Knife is called the Low Profile Riving Knife part N0 1791787
I am just thinking about getting the PM2000 myself, but here in Aussie it cost's $3495 AUD but looks like a good saw

Hi Big - I'm a fan of the WWII also, but will toss out some extremely competitive altneratives...one of which is much less expensive. I've used all four and have a very difficult time distinguishing the cuts apart. The Forrest is a safe bet with good resale value, the DW is a bonafide value, and the RC has very thick carbide.
