I had a similar situation years ago. Couldn't find the fabric I needed.
I ended up using the fabric that garden centers / green houses use for shade. I don't remember now exactly what it's called - shade cloth? - anyway it's made to be outside and in the sun it's synthetic of some sort and very strong. If I remember right, it came in black & grey only.
Good luck,
Scott
bg,
Not on topic exactly, but in the spirit of the season:
What's Irish, and stays outside all winter?

Ah, but that's where you're wrong, O Coniferous One. Bad puns are never in season.

Steve,
Oho, not a fan of the lowest form of wit, eh?

Try Sailrite (http://www.sailrite.com). That looks similar to, but not exactly the same as phifertex. Phifertex is often used as sheet bags on sailboats, so it's UV resistant. They may also be able to suggest something else.
Go to a serious upholstery store they will carry outdoor fabrics for lawn furniture upholstery, its expensive but tough and UV protected. Good luck
A Google search for "upholstery fabric outdoor", came up with a bunch of hits.
I think the fabric you are looking for is "Sunbrella".
This link has it in 33 color ways:

One thing to watch out for: Sunbrella makes several different kinds of fabrics, and some of them are interior-only.
