Can anyone offer a suggestion as to how to sand in corners? (where 2 boards meet at right angles) I was a bit sloppy with the glue clean up, now I have a hard glue layers about 5 mm up each face, and I can’t get folded sandpaper to work very well. I tried to shave it down with a chisle, but it is to difficult, every now and then I gouge my wood surface.
Any suggestions?
Thanks everyone.

I'd suggest a scraper. If you dont have one, I've used an old plane blade as a scraper with some success. Works pretty well.
I'd stick with a nice clean, sharp, wide chisle (3/4" to 1" or more) and work with the grain.
Enjoy, Roy
Gouging the surface can be an issue since the chisel handle raises the blade's attack angle. It's very easy for the chisel to dig in and take out more than the glue. Try using a hand plane blade instead. If you happen to try this with a bench plane blade, take off the chipbreaker first. I use a 1 5/8" wide x 1/8" thick block plane blade. Being wider than a chisel, the plane blade will cover ground faster. You'll have little or no tendency to dive into the wood since the blade's back lays dead flat on the workpiece.
The only downside is that it's hard to apply enough force on the plane blade since it has no handle. That's why chisel planes (the correct tool for this task) have handles. I just keep the plane blade sharp and rock it a little side to side, which works it through the glue nicely. I keep meaning to bolt a knob or something to a spare blade.
Now, for your next such situation. Whenever the situation allows, I prefinish and wax the workpieces. Any squeezeout flicks right off. If prefinishing isn't an option then I sometimes mask off the adjacent faces.
Fiskars makes a small carbide scraper that has an optional triangular blade which would be my first choice. A pocket knife used as a scraper wiil do in a pinch. Another good tool is a carvers skew chisel which can be used to cut the squeeze-out from both sides into the corner and light scraping to finish.
