That scored a Bailey Type 9, #8c…….for……$25. Mouth was a bit chewed up, two shades of old paint, Blade and chip breaker rusty. Took it home, cleaned him up.
Old paint(s) GONE, both the ugly red, and what was left of the black.
Bare metal parts cleaned and de-rusted, iron sharpened back up
NEW Black Walnut tote and knob, old ones were very chewed on (Dog???)
Back in service, making nice curly things in some of that black Walnut.
No fancy store-bought de-rust solutions, just some items that also would clean the plastic injection molds at work, some wire brushes, a brass scraper, and a 55 gal. barrle of elbow grease. Remember, just $25 for this big old jointer plane.

That's Using The Old Noodle
You could practically go on a mini vacation with the money you saved over buying a new $500 plane. Good job !
